The conference

The annual researcher conference on mental health and alcohol and drug research offers an annual meeting place for researchers, project supervision for doctoral candidates and lectures by outstanding international lecturers.

The three-day research conference will feature plenary lectures by national and international guest speakers.

Keynote speakers include:

• Professor Cynthia M. Bulik is the founder of the University of North Carolina Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders. She is a Professor of Nutrition at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, as well as Professor of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics and head of the Centre for Eating Disorders Innovation at Karolinska Institutet.
• Professor Mikael Landén is a senior researcher at Karolinska Institutet, and a former associate professor at the University of Gothenburg. His research field is psychiatry with a special focus on affective disorders and biological mechanisms.
• Professor Sir John Strang is Head of the Addictions Department at King’s College London, and has been a leading psychiatrist in addictions treatment for over 30 years.

There will be opportunities for networking seminars for established networks and an arena for meeting new collaborative partners. There will also be various seminars and a career development forum for post-doctoral researchers and research administrative personnel, as well as supervision for doctoral candidates.

The conference is being organised by the Norwegian Centre for Addiction Research (SERAF) and the Norwegian Centre for Mental Disorders Research (NORMET). It is being funded by the Research Council of Norway via the Research Programme on Better Health and Quality of Life (BEDREHELSE) and the Research Programme on High-quality and Reliable Diagnostics, Treatment and Rehabilitation (BEHANDLING).
