Global Health – beyond 2015” is the sequel to the major seminar held November 2008. Organized by the Swedish Society of Medicine, together with partners, the world’s leading medical journal The Lancet, The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) and The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (KVA). They have formed a Working Group that will identify, analyse and report on the major global health issues. The report will be presented at a press conference, and then discussed and debated in an open international and interdisciplinary conference, involving academia, health care, policy and industry, at Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre. After input from the experts of the conference and partners, and especially from today’s youth and students, ”The Stockholm Declaration on Global Health” will be proposed, which will become a beacon for further efforts to improve human health globally. On
5 April a follow-up workshop to the conference will be conducted, to further debate and reflect upon the topics raised during the conference.
