This step describes how to undertake a national NCD situation analysis.
A situation analysis guides the identification of priorities for an NCD plan and informs all the following steps in the planning process. It requires an in-depth examination of:
- the NCD burden, including an analysis of risk factors and morbidity and mortality trends;
- the socioeconomic situation;
- review of evidence-based interventions; and
- assessment of current country responses.
Stakeholder engagement and multisectoral governance mechanisms
This section looks at two complementary aspects:
