Former Big Tobacco Executive Joins Big Alcohol

The former president and CEO of Reynolds American, a subsidiary of tobacco giant British American Tobacco, has recently joined the board of the world’s second largest liquor producer Diageo.

Debra Crew who recently joined the Board of Diageo, before joining Reynolds, spent 5 years in PepsiCo, where she served as president of its North America Nutrition division, as well as president of its Americas Beverages and Western Europe divisions.

A career in the corporate consumption complex

Prior to PepsiCo, she held positions from 1997 to 2010, with Kraft Foods, Nestlé, and Mars.

Currently, Ms. Crew serves in the Boards of Stanley Black & Decker, American marketing group Newell Brands, and Cadbury-owner Mondēlez.

Diageo, the second largest liquor producer in the world, is known for its unethical business practices, including tax avoidance, bribery and unethical marketing.
